" I wanted to extend a huge gratitude for the Blanket Exercise held at Brockton School, it was transformative experience. Another moment for healing and growth between our Indigenous peoples and settlers"

Kairos Blanket Exercise in Person- Grade 6

I just want to send a heartfelt thank you to each of you for bringing the Kairos Blanket Exercise to Delta residence on September 30, 2022. It was amazing to be in the room to feel the energy of the participants. Grateful for the elder presence and to provide territory acknowledgment. Really enjoyed how the Elder and the youth worked well together, encouraging and providing support for each other. We would definitely like to welcome Moon Tide Reconciliation back to the City of Delta to do more exercises and demonstrations in the future!

Sept 30 National Truth and Reconciliation day

Thank you so much for facilitating the "Virtual Blanket" today! I have been fortunate enough to take through the course of my career, this was one of the most powerful and heartfelt learning experiences I have had. I so appreciate the following:

  • The historical review of the First Nations and the Metis communities injustice

  • The participatory platform via the aspects of our home/ community that we had to "tear" off, the reading of the statements and the chat at the end.

  • The elders sharing their stories, also with effective and respectful way of getting us all to share our learnings and feelings throughout the session.

Thanks again for the powerful Virtual Blanket.

Please pass this feedback to others!
